Programs

Ghetto Youths Foundation provides year-round, ongoing help and assistance to communities in need across the world.

Our social impact programs are focused on four main areas of intervention:

  1. Education
  2. Health & Wellness
  3. Elderly Support
  4. Community-Building

Currently, our outreach work in Jamaica is centered around two long-term projects: Cornerstone Learning Center and the Rita Marley Girls Center

In response to a call for help from the Trench Town community, Ghetto Youths Foundation launched a multi-year campaign raising funds to build a brand-new learning center in the heart of the community. As a result, Cornerstone Learning Center opened in February 2020, on the eve of Bob Marley’s 75th birthday celebration, offering FREE remedial reading and math support for hundreds of young people from Trench Town, where 100% of the population lives below the poverty line, leaving young people vulnerable to cycles of violence, high dropout rates, and early pregnancies. Cornerstone Learning Center represents a beacon of hope for the community, embracing and nurturing the most under-resourced young people, and setting them on a transformative path to success.

Similarly, in celebration of Dr. Rita Marley’s 75th Earthstrong, Ghetto Youths Foundation announced the launch of the Rita Marley Girls Center – a space that will transform opportunities for young women in Trench Town. In partnership with the Bob & Rita Marley Foundation, we are advancing a bold and urgent vision to create a 360-degree program designed to address social inequities and empower at-risk young women in Trench Town. Inspired by the legacy of Dr. Rita Marley’s long-standing commitment to social equity, the Center will provide a comprehensive, all-encompassing approach to breaking systemic barriers and creating pathways to education, economic self-sufficiency, and mental health and wellness.
