Ghetto Youths Foundation, in partnership with the Bob & Rita Marley Foundation launches a groundbreaking new initiative to support the young women of Trench Town, Jamaica.
Together, we are advancing a bold and urgent vision with the creation of the Rita Marley Girls Center, a transformative 360-degree program designed to address social inequities and empower at-risk young women in Trench Town, Jamaica. Inspired by the enduring legacy of Dr. Rita Marley, artist, humanitarian, and widow of reggae legend Bob Marley, the Center will provide a comprehensive, all-encompassing approach to breaking systemic barriers and creating pathways to health, education, and economic self-sufficiency.
The Rita Marley Girls Center will provide critical training, mentorship, and professional development to young women, ages 17-25 to address a gap in access, resources, education and opportunity. Each cohort of graduates from the program will emerge with a professional pathway, hands-on experience, and self-esteem, created through a transformative journey towards a hopeful and successful future.
With a launch date set for September 2025, we are actively funding the capital campaign for the campus and center grounds, as well as the programming campaign for year-round teaching and support.
